Where do you place your combination detector?
A combination detector is a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in one. Smoke rises and carbon monoxide spreads through the air. Because of this difference, there is no one perfect place for the combination detector, but entirely dependent on your situation.

- Rooms with combustion appliances: Install carbon monoxide alarms or combination detectors in any room that contains combustion appliances, such as central heating boilers, gas stoves, water heaters or fireplaces. These appliances can emit carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless and potentially deadly gas. A CO alarm near these appliances provides a quick warning of dangerous accumulations of carbon monoxide so you can act in a timely manner.
- Escape routes: Place smoke detectors or combination detectors in hallways and near stairs, especially if they lead to bedrooms. This ensures that smoke is detected quickly and you can respond in a timely manner.

Il rilevatore (un dischetto da appena 120mm di diametro per 28mm di spessore) arriva all’interno di una scatoletta su misura, purtroppo senza alcun tipo di imballaggio, corredato solo da un manuale di istruzioni multilingua (italiano incluso) e un set di due viti e due tasselli. Per l’installazione niente di più semplice: si svita la parte inferiore che poi si va ad appoggiare sul muro/soffitto deputato ad accoglierlo, si segnano con una matita le posizioni delle due asole e si praticano due fori da 5mm con un trapano. Fissata la parte inferiore con le due apposite viti inserite nei rispettivi tasselli, si sposta da OFF a ON l’interruttore presente sulla parte superiore e la si avvita su quella già bloccata in precedenza con le viti. Il gioco è fatto. Nel momento in cui fumo o monossido di carbonio entreranno in contatto con il sensore, partirà un segnale acustico da 85dB disattivabile per 10 minuti premendo il tasto centrale. SE LA FONTE DELL’ALLARME NON È SICURA, NON SOTTOVALUTARE L’ALLARME: LE PERDITE DI MONOSSIDO DI CARBONIO SONO SUBDOLE E POTENZIALMENTE LETALI. PERDETE UN PO’ DI TEMPO, SPENDETE DUE SOLDI, MA RIVOLGETEVI SEMPRE AD UN TECNICO QUALIFICATO CHE POSSA GARANTIRE CHE TUTTO SIA DAVVERO A POSTO!!! La durata della batteria è dichiarata per 10 anni (questo solo il tempo saprà dire se corrisponde a verità) e non è possibile sostituirla in quanto parte integrante della scheda elettronica dell’oggetto. Una raccomandazione importante è di mantenere qualche decina di centimetri di distanza da pareti o soffiti adiacenti a quello scelto per l’installazione, stare lontani da bocchette di aerazione, riscaldamento o condizionatori, non piazzare dietro a tende o armadi o nemmeno luoghi pieni di umidità come cucine o bagni. Evitare anche luoghi polverosi, troppo caldi, con molti insetti o facilmente inquinati, vicino a fonti di illuminazione o accanto a porte e finestre. Sono particolarmente consigliati per il fissaggio camere da letto o vani scale/corridoi, nello specifico sarebbe opportuno stare più vicini possibile al centro del soffitto; nel caso in cui si installi in una stanza con un apparecchio a combustione, bisogna posizionarlo tra 1 e 3 metri orizzontalmente da tale sorgente di CO. Per concludere devo segnalare che il rilevatore ha un’utilissima funzione wi-fi che tramite la app Smart Life avvisa di eventuali allarmi direttamente sullo smartphone, in modo da poter intervenire immediatamente per mettere al sicuro bambini, anziani o persone non autosufficienti rimasti momentaneamente in casa da soli.

I ordered this for a couple of reasons the first being it’s Wi-Fi so I’m able to look at it via the app on my phone and the other reason is the fact it’s a combination smoke/fire alarm alongside a carbon monoxide alarm. We have alarms however not as many as I’d like so this two in one not only looks good and a modern take on the practical alarms but is such a must and is going to put me at ease for all the family especially as the battery life will last for the next 10 years. Although no one smokes it’s reassuring this alarm can tell the difference and alert to slow burning smouldering fires like you’d get with a cigarette but not so sensitive it will go off with cooking steam and smoke which sometimes happens due to my bad cookery skills! At the time of ordering this version being the Wi-Fi was £39.95 which in my opinion is great value for a duel alarm along battery life before it needs replacing. meaning if it only lasted 10 years full stop at £3.95 a year is superb value for money as it’s a item made to save the lives of myself and all my family members and that’s priceless.

Ik heb deze brandmelder/CO-melder gekocht omdat deze makkelijk koppelbaar was met hun gewone brandmelders. Dus als één alarm afgaat, gaan ze allemaal af PLUS je krijgt een melding op je gsm. Ze waren heel makkelijk te installeren en de prijs is heel schappelijk. Nergens een goedkoper totaalsysteem gevonden.

Ich habe kürzlich den vernetzten Rauchmelder, den Kohlenmonoxidmelder und den Kombimelder gekauft und installiert und bin mit diesem Kauf äußerst zufrieden. Das Verbinden der Melder war überraschend einfach – ich musste nur den Anweisungen folgen und innerhalb weniger Minuten waren alle Melder verbunden. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass beim Auslösen eines Alarms alle Melder gleichzeitig ertönen. Dadurch wird sichergestellt, dass ich keine Benachrichtigung verpasse, egal wo ich mich im Haus befinde.
Die Qualität der Detektoren fühlt sich solide und zuverlässig an und sie funktionieren genau wie versprochen. Eine große Beruhigung für die Sicherheit meiner Familie!
