Unscrew the rear mounting bracket from the smoke detector by turning it counterclockwise until the two lines are flush with each other. Then use the stick provided to turn the switch on the back of the smoke detector to “ON“.
Use the stick provided to set the switch on the back of the smoke detector to “OFF“.
Test the smoke detector by pressing the test button on the front panel. Then the alarm sounds three times and the red LED light flashes, followed by a short pause and another three alarms and red LED light. Now you can be sure that your smoke detector is working correctly.
We do not recommend testing the smoke detector with smoke or fire. This can be dangerous and damage the smoke detector. In addition, all Aroha smoke detectors are already thoroughly tested in a controlled smoke chamber at the factory before they are put on the market. This gives you confidence that your detector will work properly when installed correctly.
Still want to check if your smoke detector is working yourself? Then use the test button. This safely activates the alarm without smoke. If you want to perform a more comprehensive test, you can use a special test spray. These sprays safely simulate smoke and activate the detector’s sensor.
Unscrew (counterclockwise) the mounting bracket on the back of the smoke detector. Place this bracket in the desired location and mark the 2 screw holes. Drill these 2 holes with a 5 mm drill head, install the supplied plugs and screw down the mounting bracket. Finally, attach the smoke detector to the mounting bracket by turning it clockwise.

Monteer de rookmelder op het plafond – want rook stijgt op – en op minstens 50 cm afstand van een muur of een hoek, zoals u ziet op de plaatjes hieronder.
Check if there is any danger from smoke and/or fire nearby. Once danger is ruled out, press the test button to set silent mode.
To prevent future false alarms, clean and maintain the smoke detector as directed. Also consider hanging the smoke detector in another location, should it give a false alarm due to e.g. water vapors.
Verify that the smoke detector is activated. You activate the smoke detector by turning the switch on the back to“ON“.
The battery is low; the detector should be replaced. Contact us to exchange it if it is still under warranty.
Clean the detector by using a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush and vacuuming all sides and covers of the detector. If the problem persists, the detector is not working properly. Contact us to exchange it if it is under warranty.
Test the smoke detector once a month.
Clean the smoke detector at least once a month to remove dust, dirt or debris. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush and vacuum all sides and covers of the smoke detector.
Do not paint the smoke detector, as paint closes the vents and interferes with the sensor’s ability to detect smoke.
Do not disassemble the smoke detector to clean the inside or replace the battery, for example, as this will damage the smoke detector.
Test the smoke detector by pressing the test button. Then the alarm sounds three times and the red LED light flashes, followed by a short pause and another three times alarm and red LED light.
Note: Test the smoke detector once a month. Do not test the smoke detector with an open flame. This may damage the detector or ignite combustible materials and cause a structural fire. Do not stand near the detector when the alarm sounds. Close-range exposure can be harmful to your ears.
Silent mode should be used only when the source of the alarm is known and safe. Press the test button to set the silent mode. During this silence mode, the red LED flashes once every 8 seconds. The smoke detector automatically resets after 10 minutes.
The battery cannot be replaced. Both the battery and the sensor have the same lifespan. So we recommend replacing the smoke detector as soon as the battery runs out.
Do not attempt to replace the battery as this will render the smoke detector inoperable and may cause a fire due to the high capacity lithium battery.
